But I'm going to this little place in June we call Cabo. Cabos San Lucas. For 8 glorious days with 3 of my best friends in the whole wide world. One will only be there in body and not in drinking fun since she is down with the whole baby in the belly thing. She didn't practice her "wait till after I get back from Cabo" BC. But it will be a glorious time for all !

And I can't wait!

8 days of poolside

8 days of coronas, margaritas, and daiquiris...with a couple of tequilas in for good measure. But none for JB. Period.

All kidding aside, I do wish Bret Michaels a speedy recovery. I still remember my first copy of Poison's Every Rose has it's Thorn in 3rd grade. Too bad mom didn't check the liner notes in the cassette case for all the pics of naked groupies. Lord it's amazing I'm as normal as I am.

Did you remember to catch The Hills last night? Poor Heidi, her mom should have never let her leave little Crested Butte. I hope her face settles soon - she scared me when she cried. Poor poor Heidi.

About to Burst

So far this week every time I have gone to my front door to the get mail, I notice the two peony bushes at our front stoop are just about to burst open. The most beautiful shades of pink. And I can't wait.

Kitchen Dreams

Our little home has a little kitchen. It is functional, but that is about it at the moment. I have big dreams for our little kitchen.

Pendant Lighting. Streamlined appliances. Crab painting. (They didn't call me crabby Abby for nothing). Although I personally have to have a window above my sink. It is a must. Luckily for our kitchen, that is already taken care of.

Here the counter tops are doing it for me. And the cabinets. This is probably the closest image to our L shaped galley kitchen - stopping at the fridge. No cute breakfast nook for us.


But at the moment I am really leaning towards open shelves. We have all coordinating dinnerware now and it would make things feel much more open. Ina likes it, so it must be the cool thing to do - that is how I can sell it to the hubs.

Another example - Lauren at Pure Style Home did open shelves for her kitchen. How simply perfect is this? And I could even do our out dated white fridge in chalkboard paint....ohhh meee.

Just so you know what we are working with - here are some pics of our kitchen. Granted this were taken soon after we just moved in almost 3 years ago so it's a bit more charming now, but you will get the jest of it all. All I can hope for is some after pics to put up soon...Very soon.

Baby-having Realization....

So I have decided... I now know I can have a baby when I read a birthing story or watch a baby being born on TV and want to cry over cringe.

Kristina at Lovely Morning recently shared her lovely and real birth story. Towards the end I was holding my heart feeling her experience and shocking myself with the thoughts that were rushing through my head.

Lately all I think about is how this time last year all I was thinking about was marrying the fiance and now I am consumed with the thoughts of starting a family and having a little one soon in our future.

Part of me wants these coming days and months to stand still. To keep the little moments with the husband and our friends and family from flying by with the blink of an eye. To enjoy ourselves and revel in our wonderful love and luckiness of finding each other and knowing how special our love truly is. But to truly know that love and to continue to bond in our marriage will take on so much more to both of us once we start our expanding family. I pray and hope everyday that we are as lucky as so many of our friends and family and can experience the love of being parents.

I truly can not wait.

Going to the show

The end of April always brings a few of my favorite yearly dates - the husband's birthday and Widespread Panic's spring tour to Raleigh NC. I know, we are in our 30's and are still going to see college jam bands but it has become a ritual and one I'm not sure we will stop anytime soon. It's a good time! And to make things even better, we are getting a double dose and seeing My Morning Jacket the following weekend. I will be walking on air thru summer, I just love some good live music. There is nothing like throwing off the flip flops and dancing in the grass...and of course, outfits are being planned as we speak.

Coachella was this past weekend and I love to check out what the stars wore while attempting to blend into the crowds of music lovers. Some blend better than others, that is for sure. A few of my favs -

What if...

I always know when the husband starts a sentence with "What if" that about 99.8999% of the time whatever he says to follow it will NOT happen.
So I started this post with "What if" because the following will likely NOT end up in my closet this summer, but a girl can DREAM. Soo here goes.

Got a date, can't be late

Today one of my oldest friends, college roommie, bridesmaid, knew each other before braces, etc is coming to town with her sweet new baby girl. Annaleigh Caroline Violette is our first baby girl to the group (Patrick and Ethan preceed her) and I seriously can't wait to snuggle up to this one. We have had 2 previous dates planned but have had to be rescheduled due to sickness on my part (first time I was too hungover to hold a baby and second I was sick with a cold). I am so excited!

Maybe its just me but I seriously love this show! Just a snipit from the other night's episode where Jules tries to give up wine for a month. I know, I don't think I could do it either. Thursdays just wouldn't be the same.

I Like Your Style

More like love. But you know what I mean. I've still not swapped my winter closet for my spring/summer closet partially because I'm terrified to see what I do not have.

Definitely could use this outfit in my wardrobe. Can only imagine how hot the shoes are.

so far I've not been sipping, but in due time. Almost all my friends are preggers or have had a baboos recently. I feel more out of the cool kids club than ever. Whaa for me.
