Robbed

So People Mag has released their "Sexiest Man Alive" issue. And while B Cooper is easy on the blue eyes, my man got ROBBED. I have only seen photos online, but where is (my) Jon Hamm? I am stunned and extremly disappointed. Mr. Hamm, you will always be number 1 in my heart.

 seriously?

smoldering.

and he obviously likes to have fun.

Lastly, this video should have sealed the deal. But WHATEVER!

Mama Gear

So just another reason to pop this LOAD out (yes, my belly/baby has been referenced as a LOAD) --- We are getting our very own H&M store people! The ginormous metropolis that is "The DASH". Us, getting a fancy 2 story H&M.  Should be interesting....  Just checked out the website to see if anything tickles my fancy.... I am such a slouch monster. Give me a cozy sweater and some jeans and I am a happy girl.

Lovely camel cardigan. My winter staple. Easy. Comfy.

Yes I know, basically the exact same sweater.... but this one has that leather belt detail. See?
Totally different.

Now we are talking. This is work/church/mom appropriate. Just add french twist and pearls.
Done and done.

Grand Opening is Thursday November 17. Go get you some.

The one with the green door...

What are the odds hubs will let me do this over the weekend?

You know, the house with the green door...just seems so fitting and as there is only 9 days until my due date this is just a crucial task to accomplish before baby O comes. right???

Brass

I am really starting to accept the look of brass as an essential.  Maybe it takes me a while to catch on. But I dig it.

And one more thing...

Hi-Larious!  Can't wait to see this one.

Friday thanks...

In honor of November and the forgotten holiday of Thanksgiving, I will give thanks today for a few people that basically get me through life, especially these days.

1. My sweet loving hubs.
He has been unbelievably wonderful during our special time. Not that I would expect anything less. This guy always hits it out of the park.  Always there to cook me dinner, hug me and rub the belly, tell me how pretty I am (which no one believes at 37 weeks but loves to hear), and paint a dresser.  He is going to be the absolute best dad and I can't be more thankful for him.  I hope this boy has his sweet, kind eyes and his warm, open heart. And his shoe style - check out those flip flops. Perfect for painting.

2. These lovely ladies.

When we got pregnant we hit the motherload for baby Owen to have some of the best friends imaginable.  These are just SOME of my friends who are giving birth in the next months (or have already popped!) Seriously - there's like 10 of us in that picture. WS knows how to pump out some kiddies. And I can't wait for each of them.

3.  The grammas, nanas, ggs, mimis, whatever they will be called.

Our moms. Words can't describe how much I love these two ladies. They are beyond amazing and will do basically anything we ask (or don't ask) to help us.  They are beyond giddy to hold their first grandson and I don't think they will ever know how thankful John and I are for them and their awesome love.

Happy Friday and weekend friends.

November is here

November is my baby boy's birth month.  I have finally gotten around to taking some photos of his nursery...still missing valances for the windows and the hubs really wants a rug. But rugs are hard!  I am pretty happy with it so far.  It is simple and special, with lots of love.

Lots of special little touches -
Changing table and shelf - craigslist dresser, shelf was in our attic. Hubs/Dad painted both with his loving hands :)

I think this shelf might be my favorite part.  We had a box of toys from John's childhood and used them all to fill the shelves. From baseball figurines to cute cars, and then adding in our own new touches with the TOMS and Sophie.  The Piels characters were created by his grandpa Jack, and we are so happy to have them in the room.

Moses basket for those first days on loan by my dear friend Laura. Bumbo borrowed by another sweet friend.  A few outfits on display.

My chair I am sure I will spend many nights and early mornings rocking our sweet boy.  The pillow was made by my mom and the quilt was made by John's mom.

Last, the crib.  Bedding made by friends of my mother and I love it. Blanket fabric found on etsy (of course). Green bear made by Aunt Chrissy and Duck was brought home from our summer trip to the Outer Banks.

That is about it for now...still a work in progress of course. But I love nothing more than to go in and sit in my chair and think about holding baby Owen and watching him crawl around the floor and play and enjoy the special space John and I created for him.
